STRONG BACK SOFT FRONT , BRENÉ BROWN PODCAST

Brene Brown is a researcher of shame and vulnerability and her work speaks to the concept that when we are truly vulnerable, we can live our best lives.  Her weekly podcast, UnLocking Us is a great platform for learning more about ourselves.  One of my favorites, “Strong Back, Soft Front is linked in the button below- have a listen!

FIND THE BENEFITS OF BREATHING

The ability to become more aware of how our bodies respond to stress and pain can be explored through our relationship to our breath.  Take a moment and allow yourself to inhale a breath and then to exhale it.  Do you find that to be easy or challenging? See if you can begin to notice certain characteristics of your breathing.  Is it slow and expansive or more quickly paced and tight?  Take a moment to notice if you have tightness anywhere in your body.  Try to take five more intentional breaths and direct your inhales all the way into the bottom of your belly.

Have you ever tried the practice of yoga? Do you know the many benefits it offers? So many people have said to me, I am not flexible or they are challenged that they are not able to sit still when practicing yoga.  Does this mean that this practice is not for you? I would say exactly the opposite.  There is a quote that says, “The practice of yoga is not about being able to touch your toes, it is what you learn on the way down that matters most.”  When we challenge ourselves to SLOW down in this fast-paced world, we can begin to be more aware of what benefits us, and how to care for ourselves in a more holistic way. Click on the YouTube button below to join me for a slow and intentional yoga practice to help, ground into your body.
